ACA Wook Hyun Kwon Education Award

Honoring Excellence in Control Engineering Education

Introduction

The aim of the control education prize named the ACA Wook Hyun Kwon Education Prize is to honor outstanding contributions to the education in control theory and applications in the Asia-Oceania region made by a single individual, or group. These contributions can be expressed in terms of the impact in society at large, the engineering profession, the control industry, and/or in the university arena.

The prize is not intended to honor in the first instance scholarly contributions to the theory of control engineering education, although this can be an important contribution. Rather the prize is for excellence in practicing control and systems engineering education.

Excellence in control education can be established along the lines of:

  • The influence on Ph.D. students, and quality of contributions made by distinguished (Ph.D.) students
  • The impact and influence of textbooks (for undergraduate and/or graduate courses)
  • The creation or introduction of new teaching methods
  • The impact of a whole oeuvre in educating a generation of students
  • The impact of teaching methodology in control engineering practice

Nomination Guidelines

1. Eligibility Criteria

  • Being active in the broad field of control engineering education
  • Practicing in Asia and/or Oceania

2. Nominators
