Asian Control Association (ACA)

President
Shuzhi Sam Ge
President of the Asian Control Association
Dear Colleagues and Friends,

It is with great honor and privilege that I serve as the President of our prestigious Asian Control Association (ACA). For over 30 years, our community has been a beacon of excellence in scientific exchanges, communication and collaborations owing to the tireless and wholehearted dedication of our outstanding scientists, academics and educators across Asia and Oceania. Their efforts in conferences, education and publications have not only significantly advanced our understanding of control science and engineering, but also undoubtedly enriched our collective knowledge and benefited humanity.

Control science and engineering are both fundamental and crucial in the successfully transforming science and technology into practical applications by closing the loop with the physical world to ensure safe, trustworthy and reliable operations. With the fast advancement in Computing, Communication, and Control (3C) technologies, many advanced machines are emerging to revolutionize our work, life, and leisure. Innovations such as autonomous vehicles, artificial intelligence, digital twins, intelligent robots, bionic systems, and biomedical systems are reshaping industries, maritime operations, aerospace, and even societal cultures. I invite you to contribute, serve and enjoy the collegial, friendly, and supportive ACA community, where we turn unstable systems stable, make unreliable methods reliable and render unexplainable phenomena explainable.

I congratulate the conference organizers for their successfully organization of the Asian Control Conference (ASCC) in Dalian, China, from July 5-8, 2024, marking the 30th anniversary of ASCC since its inception in Tokyo, Japan, in 1994. The highlight of the conference was the inauguration of the ACA Fellow Award, presented by the then ACA President Professor Lei Guo, with the support of the then ACA immediate Past President Professor KS Hong. Heartfelt congratulations to the awardees of the ACA Fellows for their outstanding contributions to control science and engineering and for their development of the Asia-Oceania region.

Together, we are carrying forward the activities, vision, and spirits of the ACA with all your blessings, companionship and friendship. These are the best ways to honor our past presidents and members of the Advisory and Steering Committees.

I look forward to seeing you at the upcoming ASCC in Bali, Indonesia, in 2026, and at many other exciting events we are planning. Your participation, contributions and enjoyment make these events special, meaningful and memorable.
